With more than 500 preceptors and more than 4,500 alumni, the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy has a large network of professionals involved in the life of the School. Whether advocating on behalf of the School with the state legislative body or helping student pharmacists learn the tools of the trade, preceptors and alumni are vital to the School’s success.

Each year, the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and its Alumni Association recognize Preceptors of the Year and Honored and Honorary Alumni at its annual Gifts of Time Reception, held this year on October 28.

“As October is American Pharmacists Month, it is a fitting time to say thank you to all our alumni and preceptors who through their volunteer efforts have assisted the School in its mission to educate leaders in the pharmacy profession,” said Natalie D. Eddington, PhD ‘89, dean of the School of Pharmacy, at the reception. “The School of Pharmacy is fortunate to have such a high level of commitment from so many alumni and friends as active members of the Alumni Association and the School’s Academy of Preceptors. For that we are appreciative and hope that you will encourage others to participate in our alumni efforts and get involved in experiential learning.”

Lynette Bradley-Baker, PhD ‘92, president of the School of Pharmacy Alumni Association, presented the following awards:
The Evander Frank Kelly Honored Alumni Award – Capt. James Bresette, PharmD ’97, and Joseph DeMino, BSP ’84.
The B. Olive Cole Honorary Alumnus Award – Maryland Delegate David Rudolph.
